Our Integrated Planning team is essential in shaping the vision and objectives of our policies and servicing strategies. The team is responsible for building, adapting, and implementing plans for sewerage catchments, water supply zones, and data systems to define performance targets, establish investment pathways, and develop Strategic Business Cases—all driving an affordable, sustainable, and deliverable portfolio to achieve key objectives.

Due to exciting growth and an expanding portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Integrated City Planning Leader to join our Integrated Planning team and further support our multi-billion-dollar asset base.

What You'll Be Doing

As a leader in the Integrated City Planning team, you will support solving complex problems that define adaptive investment pathways to inform our multibillion-dollar capital and operating expenditure forecasts for the 5 to 20-year horizon with a grounding of current and forecast service performance (and risk), climate change adaptation requirements, prioritised development areas and commercial opportunity to achieve regions service level objectives.

You’ll also have the opportunity to lead and collaborate on large-scale water cycle projects that contribute directly to the future sustainability and growth of water services.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about innovation in water cycle planning  processes such as Integrated Water Management, operational excellence, have strong engagement and communication skills, and thrive when working on complex, impactful projects. You will:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) and be RPEQ qualified;
  • Be a subject matter expert across the full water cycle having developed your experience within the Water Utility and/or Environment industry;
  • Specialist expertise in drinking water quality, water/sewer network planning, wastewater treatment or strategic planning would be highly regarded;
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage complex and diverse planning programs, ensuring they are delivered on budget and on time, with a strong focus on safety, environmental and commercial outcomes;
  • Exhibit a problem solving and critical thinking mindset, with ability to adapt based on lessons learnt and pivot to changing requirements;
  • Possess the ability to work collaboratively in small or large teams to deliver team goals and shared objectives;
  • Demonstrated capacity to establish and develop effective relationships with customers through the determination of needs, management of processes and delivery standards, instigation of continuous review and the development of staff competencies; and
  • Exhibit a project management mindset, with the ability to coordinate teams, build relationships, manage internal and stakeholders with competing priorities and drive energy to deliver results.
